UPCOMING SPC EVENTS
Dear Sacramento Press Club members,
Out of concern about the public safety implications of COVID-19, we have postponed our March 30 luncheon discussion about Assembly Bill 5. It was to have featured Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, Assemblyman Vince Fong, California Labor Federation Executive Secretary-Treasurer Art Pulaski and California Business Roundtable President Rob Lapsley. We hope to reschedule it as public health concerns permit.
May 19: We have scheduled a very special event for May 19, to present the Sacramento Press Club’s annual scholarships to talented aspiring student-journalists. Journalist and author Jim Newton will discuss his new biography of Gov. Jerry Brown, “”Man of Tomorrow: The Relentless Life of Jerry Brown,” in an event to be moderated by KQED’s Scott Shafer, whose interviews with Gov. Brown resulted in an extraordinary podcast, The Political Mind of Jerry Brown.
June 24: Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins and Speaker Anthony Rendon have agreed to appear at the Sacramento Press Club on June 24.
We will remain mindful of public health concerns as those dates approach.
Please check back at the Sacramento Press Club homepage and our social media sites for other event information. And please feel free to contact Press Club Vice President Alexei Koseff or me with any suggestions of events to come.
